I'm not sure people read these reviews but here goes. I met Dr. David Douglas Bryan at WK Eye Institute Pierremont in 2011. I had been taking my Mom to see Dr. Ashley Wheat-Sipes and asked for an appointment with no real preference other than next available early morning appointment and "luck of the draw" placed me with Dr. Bryan. It helped he is an LSU Tiger and is now on my "blog" list along with others there. I was 61 years old and reading with reading lenses mostly. He told me I had a cataract forming and by October 11, 2017, it was time to get rid of it. I was impressed that he said it is best to wait until they NEED it rather than “go for the bucks”, my phrase. Two days after surgery I am convinced it is one of the best things I've done. I have had NO pain and am amazed at what I've been missing as the decline is gradual. I was impressed with three things about Dr. Bryan in addition to his expertise. He took time after the procedure to answer questions as I am interested in the machinations of medical procedures above "if they work". Dr. Bryan is well aware of the the Good Lord's blessing of his talents and knowledge and the effect on an individual's recovery. He led me in a prayer prior to discharge. While I am not overly "religious" I certainly know thee HE has had my hand in his for many years and occasions. I was really shocked when Dr. Bryan called me at home at the end of his day. Rarely do doctors take time to do this. There are many good ophthalmologists in town and even within his clinic. Doctor Bryan gets my vote and I am having the other, smaller one removed the week after Thanksgiving. Thank you, Dr. Bryan and all his staff and the attendants at WK Eye Institute surgery center ant the North campus on Greenwood Road where I was born in 1949 when it was Tri-State Hospital. I guess I never felt the need to get too far away! If you are thinking about cataract surgery don't put it off any longer as, to me, the worst part is the eye drop regimen but they even make it easy to remember with a 28 day schedule and an "eye chart for dummies' like me!
