I've been to this hospital on four different occasions. Two visits to the ER for croup for my infant son and two visits for maternity/OB related visits. Both visits to the ER we had a great experience with the staff being professional and yet also showing sympathy for us being there for something so scary. We had a great experience having our fourth child at this hospital as well and if we ever have a fifth, we will be back! Highly recommend!

I am posting this for my mother at her request because she is not able to do it yet. She was so impressed with the level of care she did not want it to wait.
My mother was admitted for congestive heart failure but has a plethora if other health concerns that complicated and lengthened her stay.
The staff on the second floor is wonderful! Every aspect of care from the nurses to the housekeeping staff were courteous and professional, but more than that they cared! This has been a scary time for our family and there empathy extended not only to my mother but every family member that visited her.
Every detail including the quality of her meals was excellent and every visit from the staff left her reassured and smiling.
It's never a good thing when a loved one is hospitalized and family is driven by concern but if it happens the staff at Berkeley Medical Center can not be beat!

I don’t go to doctors or hospitals unless i absolutely have to. Last night I went in. I was seen immediately. The staff was amazing. They didn’t dismiss anything that was going on with me or make me feel unimportant. They were quick with diagnosis and treatment for me. They all showed amazing bed side manner. I was in and out and treated in barely an hour and a half. The hospital is clean and welcoming as well.

Today, I had an ultrasound and blood taken; Both worked out with no problems and were done quickly. No problems for me, so here's five stars.

Wife went here Sunday with a severe gallbladder attack, she had a scheduled surgery in Hagerstown that was moved forward already because of pain. She held out as long as she could until finally she said I can’t take the pain. We went to Berkeley rather then meritus because she was in too much pain for the drive. Upon arrival we got a room relatively fast, it was 3am of course.. after sitting in the room with my now crying and can’t sit still wife for 2 hours they came in and gave her some medicine. Roughly every 30-45 minutes they would come by to give her more meds because she was still having severe pain. They came back after she started to lose a little pain for her scan to check the gallbladder situation. Another 2 or so hours... doctor comes by and says at this time your fine and your gallbladder is not infected or inflamed and there is nothing we can do further to help you so we are discharging you. My wife literally cried to these people she was still in pain and how could you send me home when I’m begging you to take this pain away or help me in some way or idk be a hositpial and do your Fsjsisn job.
Her surgery day comes roughly 4 days later.. doctor comes out after surgery says her gallbladder duct was inflamed and at 4.5mm when it should only be roughly 2mm and the mere fact she could physically walk around without having severe pain is amazing to him. He asked me about the visit at Berkeley Sunday and we told him what happened. He said it was definitely inflamed and a lot more about Berkeley none of it good of course... gallbladder was attached to my wife’s liver which Berkeley couldn’t see or didn’t care to see and it could have done real damage had gone much longer. They didn’t bother trying to actually help once they heard our normal doctor was at meritus. This place sucks. Obviously if you have a emergency you don’t have a choice but if you can help it do yourself a favor and go to Hagerstown or Winchester.
