I have been going to Portland Family my entire life. Even after moving to Hartford I still come back to Portland for all my doctors appointments. And I'll continue to do so as long as I live within an hour drive of the office!
Everyone there is amazing and incredibly friendly and go the extra mile to help with everything you need.
I wish this facility was better, because of its location it is convenient. But anything I need from them takes several steps, several phone calls and they claim to “leave messages” which I never receive despite verifying they have the right contact info. And my daughter needs a referral to an allergist for screening to see if she still requires her epi pen. After over a month waiting for the referral, I call and after telling me “oh we left you a message” (it’s 2017, everyone gets every message nowadays that excuse is not valid anymore!) they then ask me if I know of any specialists who take my insurance.
Isn’t that EXACTLY what the referral process is?? I asked them to tell me who she can see that is in my network. It took them a month to finally ask me to do it myself. So, we are looking for a new doctor.
This is the end of a two year relationship filled with subpar experiences. The first Pediatrician my daughter saw was condescending and I don’t think he likes kids. My kid certainly did not like him, wouldn’t even let him take her temp. The second was a nice, efficient young woman who we all liked. However she’s got no supporting back office or front office and I do not have time to do their jobs on top of my own.
