Well I have a cast so I guess thats good however the communicating is terrible I went in at one point to get a new cast since the other one was very tight I sat down to check in and the woman at the desk said this is for your left hand right....... All I could do was put both hands in the air so she could see my right hand in the cast .This is just the tip of it .I strongly recommend going elsewhere .

Dr. strauss was amazing. He performed both of my boyfriends hip replacements. He was kind and understanding throughout the whole time. Whenever there was a problem with the insurance not covering a medication he would jump right on the phone with them and have problems fixed immediately. The receptionists are not always thw friendliest but everyone has bad days. I would totally refer any and all friends and family to this doctor.

The intake process seems poorly thought out. I was in line with a number of other people with leg and foot injuries, but because there is no way to take a number and await being called (like they use at the DMV), everyone must stand in line. The line moved slowly while i was there, and some people ended up needing to stand for many minutes.
Other than that, everything was excellent. The staff were friendly and competent, and everyone explained things clearly and compassionately.

Dr. Strauss was awesome! Office experience was great with exception of check-out. A line quickly grew because check out was more than just checking out patients. Staff at checkout were handling OT/PT referrals and trying to make appointments. To speed things up, I would suggest letting patients make their own PT/OT appointments.
I was in and out of x-ray then immediately in to see Dr. Strauss where he spent all the time I needed to explain current status and answer all my questions.
P.S. If you are thinking (or currently) of becoming a patient of Central Maine Orthopedics... DONT DO IT!
