The Government needs to Look at these People! I've been on opioids for MONTHS! Because they can't schedule me for a 15 min injection. Understaffed but your meds will be filled on time!

My mother has been paralyzed for over 30 years, Since coming to Erie there has been nothing but issues getting her a pain doctor, She was sent to tristate Dr.KO (who was excellent) after nearly Dying in rehab @ Millcreek Hospital. She is 73 has heart issues a severed spinal cord and cancer, needless to say Detox or withdrawals are not and option anymore. When Dr. Ko left, we were advised that we would need to go to another practice, not a problem at first ..... we requested records sent and a list referrals which we received. The issues began when her refill came up , a few days after we got our letter. The refill was for half the number of pills she is normally prescribed ( not enough to get her to her referral appt), which then led to them needing to write an additional one, this raised an insurance flag which delayed filling again. They then scheduled an in person appt for her so they could refill her rx, which they cancelled later that week. My mom went to the hospital for her withdrawal symptoms. Tri state delayed calling us back and gave no apology for the mistake. Finally we got the script and were looking forward to going to another office. When we arrived at our new Dr's They said they never received the records from the previous hospital and we would need to reschedule (the appt was a month or so out). When I called to explain this to Tri state they said they would only fill enough to the appt (which was great), but when we got to the pharmacy Dr. Thomas ( who has never seen nor spoken to my mom) Changed her rx to half her daily dose (BID from QID). This is very dangerous in an elderly patient with heart issues, high blood pressure as well as neuro disorders. When I called them about this the Nurses agreed and said they would have the prescription corrected but that was not done in a timely fashion and again my mother ended up in the ER. When I called to talk to nurse I got he voice mail during which I explained the events that have been leading to my frustration and at the very least that the office call my mothers PCP to have them fill her rx until she could be seen by the new Dr. That I felt that they were causing my mother harm by neglecting to handle this process correctly and they should be filling her rx's until she see's the new Dr. I got a very nasty call back from Dr. Thomas who was funnily enough inaudible e except for the fact that I heard do not call back. The staff acts as if my mother is a pill seeker and not a legitimate patient, she was PA herself before her injury and we are all medical professionals in this house, The mistake made was their inability to treat each patient fairly and with respect, I know many of their clients and can safely say they receive more meds than my mom with far less ailments, and receive far more respect. tough break for tristate, the laws only go so far in their favor, when it comes to endangering a patient and willful neglect that leads to further injury, hospitalization or death. She tried taper alternative meds and detox, all were deemed medically inappropriate. What is with Dr. Thomas providing excess for some and none to others? There should be an investigation done
