This is a long review (although not all of everything is listed due to not enough character space) but if you are a Dr. Brown patient then its worth the read. On March 9th of this year Dr. Brown performed bilateral sinus surgery, septoplasty and removal of tonsils. At my husbands 2 week post-op he had complained of drainage from his left nostril, the drainage was clear and was continuous and also had a weird taste. Dr. Brown shrugged this off as being my husbands nasal rinse backing up in his sinuses and draining throughout the day. He did not do any further testing to follow up. After that visit, the drainage had gotten worst so I started researching his symptoms and they were similar to a CSF leak. I work in the medical field and had mentioned this to my doctor who is also my husbands PCP. He is the one that tested the fluid and confirmed it was CSF. I had called Dr. Browns office 2 times letting them know what was going on, I never received a phone call nor did my husband. By this time, I was furious that my husband had been leaking this long and not one time did Dr. Brown show any concern. We were able to get an appointment with a second opinion ENT. The new ENT referred us to Vanderbilt. We saw the Vanderbilt ENT who did a CT scan and to our surprise said that his left sinuses showed no sign of being done and was confused to why my husband was leaking on that side. He was scheduled for surgery that was only supposed to take at least 2 hours but my husband was in surgery for over 4. The ENT told me that the area of damage had been a lot worst and larger than he anticipated. My husband had skull bone along with the first layer of dura (meninges) missing. The ENT had to make a skin graft from parts of his nose to repair the area of damage. He had to stay in the hospital for 5 days and was out of work for 6 weeks. My husband has decreased smell now and will always be at high risk for meningitis. He also has to be careful with pressure in his head or any impact cause this could open the area and he would have to have surgery again. We had seen a lawyer for medical negligence but after reviewing the fees that would cost to have a medical witness we decided to not go through with it. I do want you to know Dr. Brown that this isn't over, I have filed a claim to the medical board detailing everything. I know you won't have to pay us for this nightmare but I do hope you have some sort of consequence for your actions. I also let my insurance company know that an investigation for fraud needs to take place since you billed for bilateral but only did the right sinus. You knew what you did and the damage that was done but was probably hoping it would resolve on its on. You neglected to treat my husband like he should have been treated. It's doctors like you that give healthcare a bad name. I pray that my husband has no future problems and also pray that you never do this to another patient or their family.

The front desk staff are very rude. They messed my appt time and tried to blame me however saw it was someone in the office that messed the schedule up and i was suppost to be here. Even after they saw it was their fault they continued to be rude. I expected more however i feel i would be treated better at the local jail for comitting a crime. I do not recomend this place to anyone. Please find yourself another ent to go to.

The first time I came to this office I spent a lengthy amount of time here. I swore at one time they forgot about me (still think they may have ...). I understand, Dr's get busy. The unexpected can happen and patients get backed up. The second time was for testing with a different department within the office. The woman who performed my ear testing was prompt, friendly, explained everything she was doing and I appreciated her help in trying to discover why I'm experiencing unpleasant symptoms. The third and final time I visited this office (Sep 13th) I arrived 15 min before my 10:15 am appt and I waited for over an hour in the waiting room. At the one hour mark I kindly asked the two women at the desk how much longer they thought it would be because I had a sitter at home watching both my children and didn't anticipate this appointment to be lengthy. I understand that again, things happen, and Dr's offices sometime face the unexpected. I told them I wouldn't mind to reschedule and she responded with, "You're next, it will be just a minute." I said OK and sat down. Prob 15 minutes later my name was called. I was walked straight to a room to wait some more. She took my blood pressure and walked out. I waited. The Dr walked into the room at around 11:50 am. He asked how I was doing and as I fought back tears I said, "Not too good. I've been waiting for almost two hours to see you." He gave me a flat apology and jumped right into, "Well it looks like you have vertigo, someone will call you to schedule PT. Sorry about your wait" said a few more things and walked out. I started sobbing, frustrated that I spent almost two hours waiting for the Dr to spend no more than 10 minutes with me. This follow-up could have been a quick phone call from someone explaining what took me almost two hours to wait to be told. The reason I'm leaving a review is because this Dr's office is in the business of people after all, and customer service is always the most important priority. The front desk women, nurses, assistant, and (I think) office manager all had an opportunity to communicate with me and apologize for my wait and allow ME the opportunity to reschedule. Yes, things might happen out of our control but when we operate in a field heavily involved in customer service we are responsible for how we handle these situations. We are responsible for communicating effectively with our customers. I'm disappointed that I was not communicated with or shown what I believed to be sincere compassion for my experience. Your time is valuable, yes - but so is mine.

The best practice I have ever been to! I called for an appt as a new patient and was scheduled for the same day. I arrived early and after completing my paperwork, I was brought back within minutes. The Nurse Pract. I saw was really nice as well as all the staff. Very knowledgeable, explained everything to me and went above and beyond for me. My entire visit, including a hearing test, was not even an hour, but I never felt like I was rushed or neglected. After multiple visits with other offices that only wasted my money and time, I am super happy I saw Farragut ENT! I only wish I could see them for everything!
